How to Make Homemade White Bread

Stir together yeast, warm water, and sugar or honey. Let stand 5-10 minutes.

Add the proofed yeast and remaining water to the dry ingredients, remaining honey, and butter in the bowl of a stand mixer.

Mix and knead the dough in the stand mixer. Cover and let rise until doubled in size, 1-2 hours.

Punch the dough down to deflate, shape the loaf, and cover and let rise for another 1-2 hours. Bake until golden.
